- Make contact with me, either by email or by telephone. I will respond as soon as I am able, so please do leave me a message if I am unable to answere the telephone.
- I will contact you to arrange a free, no obligation meeting for about thirty minutes. The purpose of this meetig is for you to decide whether you would like me to be the person to go ahead and try to help you with whatever issue you would like help with. It is also for me to decide whether I Have sufficient expertese to help you with the issue that you describe to me. If I am not able to help, I will try to help you find someone more suitable. Everything that you discuss with me will be confidential
- If we are both happy, we can make arrangements to begin our sessions.
- Whilst you may have as many sessioin as you would like with me, we will review progress on the sixth session. This helps to maintain focus and means that you do not need to worry about aimlessly having therapy with no idea of when it might end. Of course you are free to end it yourself at any time you see fit.
Points to Note:
I work online. This reduces, cost, travel, inconvenience etc. It also has the advantage that when we have finished a session, you will be in a comfortable safe and familiar environment. I ask that you:-
-
have access to a desktop machine or laptop with a webcam. Whilst it is possible to do the therapy on a mobile phone or tablet, it causes several problems that definitely reduce the quality of the therapy and may put you at risk. The screen is too small for me to share documents etc, the device can easily be knocked over or go out of line so that I am unable to see you, the temptation is increased to take therapy in public spaces etc. for example on a bus or park bench. It is difficult under these circumstances to maintain your safety and privacy etc.
-
ensure that at the time of our session you are home, or somewhere else that is similarly private and safe. The process is not dangerous but we need to ensure that the session is private and that you are not endangered by not paying attention to people or the environment around you.
-
I usually take payment in advance of a session. This is largely because, at the end of a session, you will be very relaxed. I would like this state of relaxation to remain for as long as possible and not be foreshortened by talk of 'bank transfers' etc. I will furnish you with details to make a bank transfer or pay by paypal when we arrange your first Therapy appointment'. Don't worry if you are not familiar with this method of payment etc. Nothing is going to happen that we cannot fix between us!
-
You do need to be punctual. It is likely that I have another Client to see very quickly after your session. I cannot shorten their appointment, or keep them waiting because you are late. If you are unavoidably late, there is a risk that you lose some therapy time, although I will try to avoid this in genuine circumstances
